Ana Nelson, PLA, ASLA, CLARB (she/ella)
Founding Principal | Managing Director
Ana Nelson is the founder and Managing Director of TLALLI Collaborative. She was born and raised in Mexico where she earned her architecture degree and began her professional career before emigrating to the United States to gain a master’s degree in landscape architecture.
Ana’s broad creative talents bridging landscape architecture, urban design, and architecture form the basis of a career designing stunning works of all types and scales on multiple continents. Her extensive construction detailing and project implementation experience deeply inform her seemingly endless font of design solutions.
Despite the prominence of many of her projects, Ana is most passionate about conducting design in partnership with communities. Intimate parks, plazas, gardens, and public spaces where life happens are her specialty. Ana practices the belief that engaging, listening, collaborating, and translating ideas into creative vision can only succeed when conducted in lockstep with the broadest spectrum of community in response to their unique interests and dreams.

“I feel ‘at home’ and most engaged when I have paper and pencil at hand. Connecting my thoughts through drawing provides me the freedom to explore ideas and allows me to disconnect from life’s (sometimes) crazy distractions. I find the most meaningful collaborations with teams and clients have been by just starting to draw and see how reactions and discussions naturally begin to flow.”
